If you plan on checking out any of the deals they have to offer, which are listed below, be sure to check out the Amazon Prime membership offers as well. Currently, Amazon offers a free one-year membership to Amazon Prime for any student with a legitimate .edu email address. Additionally, Amazon is offering a three-month Prime membership to moms, dads and babys’ family members. For more information, check out Amazon Student and Amazon Mom.

What are the advantages of an Amazon Prime membership ? Amazon Prime members can free two-day shipping, with no minimum purchase required. Some purchases are eligible for free white-glove delivery with a delivery time that you schedule.

Amazon Prime members can have items sent via overnight express for just $3.99 per item. There are no limits to the number of times you can send packages with Amazon prime, which means it can quickly pay for itself if you fork over the $79 annual membership fee.

Do you like ordering things online? If so then you better get your browser over to Amazon and sign up for a Free Amazon Prime Membership.

That’s right, Amazon is now offering any college student with a valid email address a one-year Amazon Prime membership valued at $79 for free. The free membership in Amazon Prime is part of a new program called Amazon Student.

With an Amazon Prime account students can receive free 2-day shipping on any order, without any minimums; Prime members also enjoy next day shipping for $3.99.

Want a new highlighter? Click, click two days later it’s in the campus mailroom. Need to save cash on your textbooks but your professor has already assigned a reading due for the next course? $4 will get those books delivered in time to read and finish your assignment and you don’t need to set foot inside your college’s bookstore.

To sign up for the free Amazon Prime for students offer you need to provide Amazon with your .edu email address, class year and major.

The best part about this free Prime membership is that students will no longer need to waste money on filler items to get free 5-7 “Super Saver Shipping” from Amazon. While students in most cities can head to Walmart or another retailer for a last-minute item there are plenty of small town colleges where the closest store with audio, computer or other items is 30 miles away. With a free Prime account students can order textbooks, supplies, snacks — almost anything Amazon sells and have it delivered free in just 2 days.

While the standard version of Amazon Prime autorenews it appears that the free Amazon Prime offer for students will not autorenew when the year completes. As part of the offer you are agreeing to let Amazon send you email offers but you can disable that in your account settings after you sign up. For more info check out the Amazon Student FAQ page.

My son Daniel has been begging me for a netbook computer for about as long as they’ve existed. Now that he is a little older we decided to surprise him for his birthday. Thanks to a recommendation from Notebooks.com Publisher Xavier Lanier, we picked out the Acer Aspire One AOD250-1842. It was going for about $300 from Amazon. It is not the latest and greatest that you can buy in a netbook, but getting a kid’s perspective is kind of interesting.

Daniel was pretty happy, as you can see in the video. He opened it up at his grandmother’s house on Saturday. After a few days with the Acer netbook, he gave us his impressions of his new toy on camera.

Introducing Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime is a special membership for Amazon.com customers which lets people who enroll enjoy free two-day shipping on all their purchases. Members can also opt to pay a small fee of $3.99 to get the item delivered in one day! Unfortunately, an Amazon Prime membership is somewhat costly; it comes with a $79 dollar annual fee, paid once per year. While this is a bargain for people who do most of their shopping through Amazon, the fee is difficult to justify for the casual Amazon bargain hunter.

Fortunately, Amazon allows new customers to try the service without any additional cost for up to 1 month. As long as you cancel your free trial on time or disable the auto renewal process, you’ll get free two-day shipping on all your Amazon purchases for a month without having to pay a cent! This sweetens all the current Black Friday/Cyber Monday offers and will help make your holiday shopping a breeze.

How to Sign Up for a Trial

If you’d like to sign-up for a free 1 month trial of Amazon Prime, click on this link or the image at the top. Once you follow the pretty straightforward instructions, you’ll get free two-day shipping on all your Amazon purchases!

The above link will only work if no one in your household has ever had a free trial of Amazon Prime. Otherwise, your trial won’t be processed or will be cancelled.

Don’t be afraid or turned off by the $79.00 annual fee- there’s a very easy way to disable the auto-renewal option and guarantee that you won’t be charged after your trial is over:

1. Navigate to the “Your Account” section of Amazon.com. It’s accessible on any page of Amazon.com, as shown below:

2. When you’re redirected to the Your Account page, click on “Manage Prime Membership” under the “More Order Actions” column in the “Orders” row.

3. Here, you’ll be able to manage your Amazon Prime Subscription. As a default, your trial is set to auto-renew. Fortunately, it’s very easy to turn off! Click the Do Not Upgrade button, as shown below:

4. A pop-up will come up on the same page. Click the “Turn off auto-upgrade” button on the left to complete the process and avoid a charge in the future!

5. If you want to make sure that Amazon Prime won’t continue charging you, take a peek at the Membership Information box. If you followed the steps correctly, it should read “Your trial membership will not upgrade to a full membership automatically…

Concluding Thoughts

However, I wouldn’t disable auto-renewal right away. If you try Amazon Prime and like it, you may want to swallow the fee. There’s something rewarding about placing an order at Amazon.com and then having it arrive in literally two days!

If you forget to turn off auto-renewal and are charged the membership after a month, don’t despair. The fee is refundable as long as you haven’t made any purchased through Amazon Prime outside of your trial period. You should be able to get any issue worked out with Amazon’s Customer Service. Try and make the most of your trial by trying and getting all your shopping done while it’s still active!
