ThinkPad X200s and X200t Announced
Lenovo’s introduced the ThinkPad X200s, a lightweight business notebook for business travelers and the X200t,the first widescreen ThinkPad tablet. Tom Ribble, the director of worldwide ThinkPad marketing, called me this morning to talk about the latest additions to the ThinkPad family.
HP EliteBook 2530p Announced (video)

ThinkPad X200 Review
Lenovo officially introduced the ThinkPad X200 today, but was kind enough to send me an early review unit last week. The X200 is Lenovo’s new 12-inch business notebook and it’s been a joy to use for the past few days. The X200 has a starting price of just $1,199, making it an excellent value for anyone who needs a fully-capable notebook that can get them through a full work day.
Sony VAIO Z Series Notebook Introduced
Sony introduced several notebook lines today, but the one that stands out the most is the VAIO Z Series. The Z Series has several notable features and replaces the SZ Premium line. It’s a business-grade 13-inch notebook that’s loaded with features that make it a smart choice for those looking for a mix of style, mobility and business.
VIA OpenBook Opened (video)
VIA’s Tim Brown opens up an OpneBook and shows us the guts of this 8.9-inch mini notebook reference design. The OpenBook has two PCI Express Mini Card slots with 52 pin edge connectors that enable the WiMAX, HSDPA, EV-DO, W-CDMA, WiFi, Blue Tooth and AGPS connectivity.
Acer Aspire One Announced
Acer’s the latest to officially launch an 8.9-inch notebook. The Acer Aspire One is built to fulfill all of your basic computing needs on the go for as low as $400.
ASUS 901, 1000 and 1000(H) Launched at Computex
ASUS showed off the Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000 (H) models today at Computex 2008 in Taipei. The new Eee PCs are more robust and expensive than earlier versions. The low-cost ultraportable market is really heating up and ASUS isn’t standing still.
X300 vs. MacBook Air (video)
The MacBook Air designers had to sacrifice a lot of ports and an optical drive so Apple could claim the title of ‘world’s thinnest notebook.’ Lenovo pokes some fun at the MacBook Air in this video and shows that an X300, the thinnest ThinkPad, can fit inside a manila envelope too.
