Just as on Black Friday, there are many Cyber Monday laptop deals to be fund, but not all of them are worth the money. Often times these deals include older computers or notebooks with older components.

You’re not really getting a deal so much as a bargain bin product. And for laptops, this often leads to heartache and wasted cash.

Best Buy had some of the better notebook deals on Black Friday and the same is true today. Here is the cream of that crop.

Toshiba Satellite C655D — $249 | HP Pavilion 2000 — $299

These two laptops may surprise shoppers with their low prices considering that both have 15.6-inch screens and are thus not netbooks. Thing is, they both have AMD Fusion E series processors inside, which means they have similar power to affordable ultraportables like the HP Pavilion dm1, which are just a step above netbooks in terms of power. So even though these are the same size as “regular” notebooks, you’re not going to get stunning performance out of them. As long as you know that going in, go ahead and get one of these if you want. It’ll be fine for basic tasks like browsing the web, working on office documents, and streaming videos.

Gateway NV55C57U — $309 | Lenovo IdeaPad 1068AFU — $319

These 15.6-inch laptops are so inexpensive because they have Intel Pentium processors inside, which are several years old. Again, you’re not going to see very strong performance from these models, but they’re okay to buy if you’re going for something basic.

HP Pavilion dv6 — $429

This notebook has a pretty powerful processor for the price and should deliver great performance for most mainstream users. And if you love to play casual games or MMORPGs or even other less-intense PC games, this model offers enough oomph for that.

Samsung RC512 — $499

This laptop actually has some good highlights, including a DVD drive that can read Blu-ray discs and built-in Wireless Display technology from Intel. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, a definite plus, and 4G/WiMAX mobile broadband built-in. The Core i3 processor means it won’t be a workhorse, but for most mainstream users this provides plenty of power.

Apple MacBook Pro 13 — $1,049 | Apple MacBook Pro 15 — $1,599

Best Buy is offering $150 – $200 off these MacBook Pros, which you generally don’t see discounted unless they’re refurbished.

Best Buy is offering a wide collection of Cyber Monday deals including a deal on a 21.5″ monitor and several networking products as well as other general Cyber Monday computer deals.

We haven’t seen any big Cyber Monday laptop deals from Best Buy for Cyber Monday, but if you’re looking for a monitor or home networking accessories, they do have some deals to check out.

Cyber 2-Day Sale: Acer 21.5″ LCD Monitor For $129.99. Valid 11/28-11/29

During Cyber Monday, you can score the Acer 21.5″ Monitor for $129.99, a savings of $40 off the standard price. This isn’t as cheap as we saw some similar sized monitors going for on Black Friday, but it is still a decent deal. The Acer monitor has a 5ms response time, 50,0000:1 contrast ration, 300cd/m brightness and 1290 x 1080 resolution. It has a DVI with HDCP connection as well as a standard VGA connection and can be mounted on a VESA 100mm x 100mm wall mount.

Cyber 2-Day Sale: D-Link Wireless-N 150 Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch For $21.99. Valid 11/28-11/29

This router and 4 port switch is on sale for about $30 off normal pricing and offers a good deal on a new wireless N home networking system. From Best Buy, “Equipped with a NAT firewall with SPI, WPA, WPA2 and WPS security features and VPN pass-through support, this wireless router allows secure wireless Web connection at ultrafast data transfer rates up to 150 Mbps.”

Cyber 2-Day Sale: Cisco Linksys E1000 Wireless-N Router For $49.99. Valid 11/28-11/29

Score $15 off the Cisco Linksys Wireless N router that can connect your WiFi devices at optimal speeds for sharing files and printers. From best Buy, “This wireless router puts the power of wireless-N technology in your home. Connect your computers, wireless printers and other Wi-Fi devices at speeds up to 300 Mbps. Cisco Connect software allows simple setup and setting customization.”

Best Buy Black Friday: If You’re Not in Line Already You Can Forget About the Doorbusters

Best Buy has some great deals for Black Friday, but they’ll be impossible to get if you’re not already in line. Best Buy’s doors open at 5am local time, but people have been lining up all day long, and in some cases well before then. One family began camping out for Best Buy’s Black Friday deals nine days ago.

All of Best Buy’s doorbuster deals are limited to the quantities on hand. In many cases, Best Buy guarantees a minimum quantity of each Black Friday deal units at each store. Busier stores are often allocated more than the minimum quoted in the Best Buy Black Friday advertisements, but that’s still not enough to satisfy more than the first several dozen customers in line. Many Best Buy stores, such as the main San Francisco Best Buy, already have several hundred shoppers lined up around the block. Unfortunately, that means several hundred people are out in the cold for both the night and the best deals.

Best Buy stores and their attached warehouses are stuffed to the brim with inventory, packing literally hundreds of some popular items into the store aisles. Those items will be relatively easy to buy with modest Black Friday discounts. There’s genereally no need to camp out in a freezing Best Buy parking lot to get those deals however. In many cases, these deals are readily available on BestBuy.com, Amazon.com and other online retailers.

We’ve heard countless stories of Black Friday shoppers being frustrated at not getting the advertised deals. In some cases, even those towards the head of the lines miss out. Some shoppers have accused Best Buy stores of not actually having the minimum advertised quantities of the Black Friday doorbuster deals. In a few cases, Best Buy employees have violated store policies to hoard the deals for themselves, friends and relatives.

Black Friday Laptop Deals are now available online form many stores including Walmart which is offering the Toshiba L655D-S5093 dual core laptop for $349 direct from BestBuy.com as part of their ThanksGiving/Black Friday 2010 sales.

The Toshiba L655D-S5093 is a powered by a 2.4GHz AMD Dual core CPU with 3GB RAM and a 320 GB hard drive. The laptop has a 13.6″ display and ATI Mobility Radeon 4250 graphics.

The Toshiba L655D-S5093 is a mid range laptop that should provide most home users with a decent experience for surfing the web, working on word documents, listening to music, chatting and watching movies. The ATI graphics will handle some casual gaming, but most modern games won’t play modern games like Call Of Duty Black Ops.

If you have been looking for the right Black Friday laptop and are leaning towards a dual core machine to use around the house this is a good deal. Office Depot still has the cheapest Dual Core Black Friday Laptop, but that’s after rebate and you can’t buy it online right now.

Best Buy will be having a quite a few doorbusters tomorrow morning at 5AM for Black Friday. We have covered some of the larger items such as the Nintendo Wii, but we have also taken the time to compile a complete list of all of Best Buy’s doorbusters.

Most of the deals are limited to one per customer with no rainchecks. Also, every item except for the video games, movies, and tv series are only available with a ticket obtained at the door. So if you are looking to score some of these deals, you may want to head out early. On second thought, you may already be too late.

The retailer is selling everything from laptops and HDTVs to video games and mobile phones and deep discounts to kick off Black Friday a day early. The discounts will extend through Saturday, but we recommend getting an early jump, just in case Best Buy runs out of your desired items early.

This is a basic full-sized laptop that is a decent solution for those with basic computing needs. It’s far from a multimedia power house, but at $249.99, after a $130 discount, it may be hard to pass up.

Best Buy: Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI for $399 or $499 at Best Buy

Best Buy will be selling the Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI laptop for just $399.99 on Black Friday as one of its doorbuster deals. This laptop has an MSRP of $759.99, but Best Buy is quoting the laptop as a $629.99 value in its ad. That’s $230 in savings. Best Buy is also selling a Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI bundle for $499.99 that comes with extra memory, a laptop bag, Blu-ray Disc player and The Karate Kid on Blu-ray.

The Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI laptop is a mainstream entertainment-focused laptop. It has a 15.5″ display, which is the most common size on the market. That size is great for getting work done or enjoying multimedia content, but some users will find its 5.9lbs too bulky to cart around every day. This laptop has mediocre specifications. While it will be powerful enough for most everyday computing tasks, you may want to skip this Black Friday deal if you’re a serious video gamer or plan on editing a lot of video.

The Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI has a white exterior, palm rest, keyboard and display bezel. This differentiates it, at least from a style point of view, from most retail notebooks.

On the inside of the Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI you’ll find 3GB of memory (4GB on the $499.99 bundle), a 320GB hard drive, and DVD burner. The more expensive version has a Blu-ray Disc player that’s also capable of playing and writing DVDs and CDs.

The Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI comes with a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium processor, which is not Intel’s finest processor in terms of power or battery life. Best Buy claims that this laptop will last for up to 3 hours and 30 minutes, but that’s under ideal testing conditions. You will likely see far less in the real world depending on your usage pattern.

Graphics are also mediocre since the Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card or GPU. While HD video should play back alright, it will be impossible to play most of the latest PC video games at reasonable resolutions and settings. If you’re the kind of gamer that enjoys the latest first person shooters, this laptop is not for you.

Best Buy will have a minimum of 10 Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI bundles for $499 and 10 Sony VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI laptops for $399 at each store. They will not be available online for this price. If you hope to score one of these laptops on Black Friday, plan on skipping Thanksgiving dinner. This will be one of the first Black Friday laptops to sell out. You will need a ticket to purchase a VAIO VPCEB3AFM/WI. The tickets will be handed out on a first-come, first served basis before Best Buy stores open at 5am.

Black Friday: Samsung Fascinate for FREE at Best Buy w/ 2-year Activation, Not Worth Waiting in Line

Best Buy will be selling the Samsung Fascinate for $0 after a $150 credit and various subsidies on Black Friday, but it’s not worth waiting in line for. The Samsung Fascinate is a smartphone that’s being promoted heavily by Verizon, Samsung and numerous retailers. It’s a good enough phone, but this deal is nothing to write home about.

The Samsung Fascinate was recently reviewed by Chris Leckness on our sister site GottaBeMobile.

The Samsung Fascinate has an MSRP of $599.99, which is on par with many other mobile phones. That’s the price you’d have to pay if you didn’t want to sign up for a new two year contract or if you’re upgrading very early. Mobile carriers typically subsidize the up-front cost of smartphones. In exchange, their subscribers agree to long-term contracts that can be worth thousands of dollars, making the subsidy a wise investment for Verizon.

The Samsung Fascinate typically has a $300 subsidy attached to it. But Verizon and most resellers are currently offering additional discounts. Verizon is currently selling the Samsung Fascinate for $199.99 after a $100 discount and $300 subsidy. Wirefly is selling it for $0 and Amazon.com is selling the Samsung Fascinate for $29.99. Amazon is waiving the activation fee on this phone, which effectively brings the cost down to zero.

Obviously it doesn’t make sense to buy the Fascinate direct from Verizon Wireless for $199.99 when there’s all these other deals out there. It also doesn’t make sense to wait overnight in line in front of Best Buy on Black Friday to get the same deal as you can with Amazon, Wirefly and other online retailers.

To make matters worse, Best Buy will only have a minimum of 10 white Samsung Fascinate smartphones and 10 black ones at each retail store on Black Friday. Best Buy is advertising this deal as if it’s something customers should covet, but the truth of the matter is that it’s not much of a deal at all. If you’re already heading to Best Buy on Black Friday for other items you may as well buy your Samsung Fascinate from there, but don’t skip Thanksgiving dinner just to wait in line for this phone.

The Samsung Fascinate is an smartphone that runs Google’s Android mobile operating system. It can act as a mobile hotspot, allowing you to use it to get online with your laptop and other mobile devices. Ut has a 5MP camera that’s capable of recording 720p HD video. Many users prefer this phones’ Swype technology for typing on a touchscreen.

Black Friday Guide: When do the Stores Open on Black Friday?

Black Friday is 10 percent preparation and 90% standing in a long line with annoying people. With this in mind we’ve rounded up the opening times for the major places you’ll score Black Friday laptops and HDTV savings of epic porportions.

Keep in mind, some lines have already formed and if you are going to be out in the elements you’ll want a tent, food, someone to watch your spot during bathroom breaks and a coat like the ScotteVest Revolution Plus Jacket with 26 pockets for all your Black Friday gear.

If you are really set on getting something on Black Friday from places like Best Buy or Walmart you should kiss Thanksgiving goodbye and get ready to line up around noon on Thursday, at the earliest. Of course, you can always look for online deals, but retailers don’t always announce when the online sales start.

Black Friday: Nintendo Wii for $169.99 at Best Buy

Best Buy will be selling the Nintendo Wii for $169.99 as a Black Friday doorbuster. The deal will only be available at Best Buy’s retail stores, which will have a minimum of 2o Nintendo Wii units in stock at this price. The $169.99 Nintendo Wii bundle includes Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and a Wii Remote Plus.

This might sound like a great deal at first glance, but we cannot recommend waiting in line on Black Friday if this is the only item you plan on buying from Best Buy. Instead, we recommend buying from Amazon.com, which has it for $179, or another online retailer with similar pricing.

Each Best Buy retail store is being allocated a minimum of 10 Black Nintendo Wii units and 10 White Nintendo Wii units to sell at this price. While Best Buy stores will likely have far more than 20 Nintendo Wii consoles on hand, those that don’t get in on the doorbuster deal will have to pay full price.

In order to get this deal you’ll have to show up several hours before Best Buy’s doors open at 5 a.m on Black Friday. Many people will skip Thanksgiving dinner in order to be towards the front of the line. Many Best Buy stores will have hundreds of people lined up for Black Friday before sunset on Thanksgiving.

Best Buy employees will pass out tickets for the Nintendo Wii bundles to the first 20 people who want them in line. Keep in mind that those at the head of the line have the first right of refusal for each deal. This means that the first couple of dozen people in line can potentially gobble up ALL of the Best Buy Black Friday doorbusters, leaving many who campe out overnight out in the cold.

If you’re hoping to get a deal on the Nintendo Wii you may have better luck shopping online. Amazon.com has the same bundle available for $179. The retailer offers free shipping for the Nintendo Wii and does not charge for tax up front, making the difference between the Best Buy Black Friday price and the Amazon deal is negligible.

If you are going to buy the Nintendo Wii bundle with the sports game, be sure your recipient actually wants a Wii. Many youngsters prefer the Microsoft XBOX 360.
