Amazon is selling the Sony BDV-E370 5.1 Blu-ray Disc System for just $239 today, one day ahead of Black Friday. This home theater in a box includes an 850W amplifier with built-in Blu-ray Disc player, five speakers and a sub-woofer.

The Sony BDV-E370 has an MSRP of $399.99. Amazon previously had it on sale for just $239. As part of its Gold Box promotion, Amazon is taking an additional $40 off for a total of $160.99 or 40% in savings.

In order to view 3D content you’ll need to purchase 3D glasses (sold separately by Sony resellers) as well as 3D content. The most logical choice here would be to pick up a couple of 3D Blu-ray disc titles.

The Sony BDV-E370 comes with the technology necessary to decode Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby TureHD and Dolby Pro Logic II. The technology allows viewers to hear the audio tracks of movies how the director intended.

At this price, don’t expect to get anything close to audiophile quality sound. However, this system is more than capable of complimenting your HDTV experience.  Virtually any 5.1 home theater in a box system is better than the tiny speakers that are inside of your HDTV.

On Black Friday, without waiting in line, you can get a deal on an HP DV6-3013nr Laptop for $524.99. That’s $224 off the HP Pavilion V6-3013nr MSRP of $749.99.

The Pavilion DV6 line is an HP’s mainstream consumer entertainment notebook. It balances portability, performance and styling. These are good workhorse laptops with a  battery rated to run at the the most 4 hours.

This laptop comes with an AMD Phenom II Triple-Core Mobile Processor N830, running at 2.1GHz. It also has 4 GB DDR3 with a max of 8GB supported. The hard drive is a fast 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive.

The 15.6” HP BrightView LED Display has a pretty average resolution of 1366 x 768 powered by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics with 128MB display memory. That is bare minimum HD capable of 720p video.

All of that means this is not a low-powered computer near the netbook quality, like some of the Black Friday deals we’ve seen. It should handle most tasks the average user will throw at it, including the basics like Internet, email and document creation. But it will do a lot more with decent enough graphics to play some video games, of course watch DVDs or streaming HD video, and some video/image editing. At only 3-4 hours of battery life don’t get too far from a power outlet.

It has an 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support and Dolby Advanced Audio with Altec Lansing speakers. So firing up a movie in the dorm room or around the house will be an enjoyable experience.

This model has the HP Imprint finish with the link design in Argento. It is a brushed aluminum finish, which is a textured and not just a smooth piece of fingerprint magnet plastic. Throw in an HP TrueVision Webcam, integrated digital microphone, 5-in-1 integrated card reader, and this has all you need for Skype and video chat as well as importing digital photos and videos.

To get on the Internet or a home network it has a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN  port as well as wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.

There are 4 USB2.0 ports. The 4th port is also a shared eSATA port. There is an HDMI for hooking up to an HD TV for movie watching or doing presentations. Other ports and connectors include a VGA, headphone-out and microphone-in.

An interesting feature is the fingerprint scanner. It will let you log into not only the system, but also favorite web sites with just a swipe of your finger.

There have been a number of these HP DV6 laptops on Black Friday lists from other stores. For example Best Buy has one for about just $25 less with an Intel Core i3 processor and the same memory but slightly more hard drive space. However, Best Buy’s deal will require you to get in line. Also BJ’s Wholesale Club has one for the same price as the Best Buy deal. In fact the one at BJ’s is nearly identical except for the processor is not as fast as the Amazon deal. At only $25 we say go with the Amazon deal, especially over the one at BJ’s. Fair warning; this one has some mixed reviews on Amazon.

You may want to check out the other Black Friday Laptops under $600 or under $500 depending on if you are willing to go a little higher or want to go lower than this HP laptop.

This Plasma TV is part of the Panasoic Viera line. A 58” HDTV, measured diagonally, is a pretty large screen and will be large enough for almost any room. The 600Hz Sub-field Drive is a technical term meaning this TV will have smooth motion for movies and shows with a lot of action or for fast moving sports. The TV has an integrated SD card slot for viewing photos.

There are 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs, a pair of composite inputs and a digital audio output.

According to Amazon’s HDTV size chart which helps users choose the right size set for their space, it would be a perfect fit in a room where people are sitting between 8’ and 14’ away from the TV.

The TV is 56.1”x36.8”x15.3” with the stand. Without it it is just 4.1” thick.

Amazon Black Friday deals are now up and ready for purchase at Amazon.com including some incredible deals on HDTVs, computers and videogames. Amazon is also discounting Apple laptops this week across the board including Black Friday deals on the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

These Apple Black Friday Deals are in line with the discounts we have seen at other retailers like Mac Mall and Best Buy where you can get a $100, $125 or $150 gift card with the purchase of a MacBook or MacBook Pro.

MacBook MC516LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop for $939 ($61 off)

This entry level MacBook Pro comes with 2 GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive as well as an older Intel Core 2 Duo processor, but it has enough power to handle the needs of most entry level Mac users. It can deliver decent iLife ’11 performance and gets 10 hours of battery life which makes it a great fit for many students. You can currently get the same MacBook from Best Buy for $999 with a $100 gift card good on a future purchase which is a better deal if you will use the gift card.

MacBook Pro 13-inch 2.4GHz MC374LL/A for $1,112 ($86 off)

If you want to a deal on the 13″ MacBook Pro, then this model is the cheapest we found on Amazon.com. It also uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 250GB hard drive, but it comes with 4GB of RAM and a unibody construction. This MacBook Pro model is not part of the Best Buy gift card promotion.

MacBook Pro 13-inch 2.66GHz MC375LL/A for $1,429 ($70 off)

The next step up is the slightly faster 2.66GHz MacBook Pro 13″ model which can be had for about $70 off at Amazon. This model also has a slightly larger hard drive. In our opinion you will be better off dollar-wise picking up the previously mentioned MacBook Pro 13 for $1,112 rather than paying a huge premium for not much in terms of increased power. If you do want this model, Best Buy’s gift card promotion will net you a better deal.

MacBook Pro MC371LL/A 15.4-Inch for $1,705 ($93 off)

If a larger screen is what you want, the base 15″ MacBook Pro is available as part of this promotion. It comes with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive as well as an Intel Core i5 processor and switchable graphics which will give you the extra graphic power when you need it and provide a more battery friendly version when you don’t need power. The Intel Core i5 processor is much faster than the Intel Core 2 Duo you will find in the 13″ MacBook Pro. This model offers a 1440 x 900 resolution screen, but not the optional upgrade to 1680 x 1050 that you can score direct from Apple.

If you are Good with a gift card, Best Buy’s offer beat this by about $37.

MacBook Pro 15-inch 2.53GHz MC372LL/A for $1858 ($140 off)

This MacBook Pro is a step up from the $1,705 model but like the 13″ MacBook Pro upgrade you’re not getting a whole lot more for your money. Yes, a slightly faster processor and a larger hard drive, but you can purchase a new hard drive relatively cheap online.

MacBook Pro 15-inch 2.66GHz MC373LL/A for $2,043 ($155 off)

If you want to upgrade form the base 15″ MacBook Pro, you would be well served to look at this model which features a fast Intel Core i7 processor and a 500GB hard drive in addition to the switchable graphics that help to preserve battery life.

If you are doing serious photo or video editing then this is the model for you, but you may be better served ordering direct from Apple and adding a high res (1680 x 1050) screen.

This is one of the areas where Amazon beats Best Buy with a $155 discount, compared to the $150 gift card offered by Best Buy.

MacBook Air MC505LL/A 11.6-Inch w. 1.2GHZ 64GB SSD 2 GB RAM for $979 ($20 off)

The base model MacBook Air has a pretty slow processor which means while it will run iLife ’11 apps OK you will need to wait longer than if you had a  high end MacBook Air or even when compared to the entry level MacBook. That said, this is a very portable machine with 5 hours of battery life, a high res (1366×768) resolution and  a usable keyboard. If you want the entry Level MacBook Air, remember students can score it for $949 from Apple.

MacBook Air MC506LL/A 11.6-Inch w. 1.4GHZ 128GB SSD 2GB RAM for $1,160 ($38 off)

The next step up is a slightly faster MacBook Air with double the storage. You should notice the speed bump and if you have a lot of files to carry around you will appreciate the extra drive space.  This model also has a 5 hour battery life, high res (1366×768) display and a very usable keyboard.

MacBook Air MC504LL/A 13.3-Inch w. 1.86GHz 256GB SSD 2GB RAM for $1,549 ($50 off)

If you need a bigger screen with lots of workspace and the chops to handle most web worker tasks then this MacBook Air with a 13.3″ (1440×900) display is a good one to look at. The processor will handle iLife ’11 apps well and even make quick work of short iMovie projects (thought it’s not the best choice for a video pro). With 256GB of Flash storage you also have a lot of room as compared to the entry level MacBook Air 13.

Amazon.com is selling the LG 42LD450 for just $499.98 as part of its pre-Black Friday sale. This HDTV has an MSRP of $749.99, but this markdown makes it an excellent value. At just $499.98, this HDTV is over $100 cheaper at Amazon that at other retailers according to our price comparison tool.

This TV features a 42″ panel that’s capable of displaying 1080p video, the highest resolution that’s currently used by movie studios and console video game makers. This size is fine for mid-sized living rooms where the viewer is up to about 8 ft. away from the TV.

This 42″ LG HDTV is not the fanciest TV, but it does have all the basics that you’d expect on something this price. One issue some users may have with it is that there are only two HDMI inputs. This could create a problem if yo uhave multiple set-top boxes or video game consoles.

Amazon.com is blowing out thousands of movies on DVD and Blu-ray discs leading up to Black Friday. Movies start at just $3.99 on disc, making them only slightly more expensive than renting them and affordable enough to use as stocking stuffers.

Surprisingly, many of the $3.99 to $10 titles include popular films, including several award winners. Slumdug Millionaire, The Dark Night and The Blind Side are all $3.99 on DVD. Here is a full list of all DVD movies that are $5 or less.

There are a ton of Blu-ray movies on sale for $7.99 to $12.99, including Terminator, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Get Him to the Greek are all $10 or less.
