ASUS Adds Eee PC 1015B and 1215B AMD Fusion Notebooks to U.S. Lineup

Asus has brought a trio of new AMD Fusion powered notebooks to the U.S. The Asus Eee PC 1215 comes in two variations and the Asus Eee PC 1015B comes in one configuration. These new AMD powered devices come in 12″ and 10″ respectively and include a full range of AMD processors. Prices start at $290 and range up to $449 for the high end mini- notebook.

Asus Eee PC 1215B-PU17 – $449

The Asus Eee PC 1215B-Pu17 is a 12.1″ ultraportable notebook with a 1.6GHz AMD E-350 dual core processor, Radeon HD 6130 graphics, 2GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive. The 12.” display has a 1366 x 768 resolution and the notebook comes with a .3MP camera built in to the bezel. This model comes with VGA, HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and a 56Whr battery. THe Eee PC 1215B runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

The Eee PC 1215B-Pu17 is he most expensive model, but based on our recent review of the Gateway NV51B series, which uses similar specs, we expect this 12″ wonder to be powerful enough to earn its keep.

Asus Eee PC 1215B-MU17 – $379

The Asus Eee PC 1215B-MU17 looks just like the more expensive model on the outside, but inside you will find a 1GHz AMD C-50 processor, Radeon HD 6250 Graphics, 1GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. This notebook also has a webcam and full complement of ports and WiFi, but lacks Bluetooth. While the Eee PC 1215B-MU17 has the same 12″ display, the specs are much closer to what you would see in a netbook, instead of a mini notebook.

Asus Eee PC 1015B-MU17- $290

If you want a smaller, more netbook-like, Asus notebook the Asus Eee PC 1015B is the model you are looking for. The 10.1″ display has a 1024 x 600 resolution and inside you’ll find a 1.2GHz AMD C-30 single core processor, Radeon HD6250 graphics, 1GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. This notebook also has a webcam, VGA, HDMI and WiFi. In netbook fashion, the Eee PC 1015B-MU17 has Windows 7 Starter.

Overall, these are a nice collection of nw AMD Fusion powered notebooks that are actually available for you to buy right now. Our favorite is the $449 Asus Eee PC 1215B-Pu17 which looks like a great notebook for a student that needs portability, but still wants a notebook with enough power to watch video and play a few games.
