This is by far the best business ultraportable on the market today. I own and use an 11" MacBook Air as my primary computer (trial lawyer, Mac-based office), but for military duty (Army Reserve officer) I bought the X220 and outfitted it for extreme runtime (9 cell + slice).

The Air is handier at .4 lbs, but nothing beats a ThinkPad for typing.

To the commenter who wants the pointing stick removed, NO WAY! The TrackPoint is one of the signature features that makes a ThinkPad a ThinkPad, and is what makes these machines such a pleasure to write on.

hey josh great review I just ordered X220 but I couldn't find the IPS display version, could you post the model number that would be helpful in reordering the one with IPS option. Any idea how much price difference between regular display vs IPS option?

thanks!
