How to Sign PDFs on Your iPad – Going Paperless (Video)

We’ve all had to sign a file and email it back to our bank or some other institution. Often, this means printing out a multipage document, signing it and scanning it back in to email back. While this works, it’s a waste of paper and it can be a hassle if you don’t have a scanner nearby, or for that matter a printer.

Enter the iPad, which can be used to sign PDFs with either a stylus or your finger. You can then email the signed and dated PDF back to the original sender without printing or scanning or wasting paper. Using the iPad to sing documents is especially handy while out on the road, even just on a day trip, when you might not have a mobile scanner or want to trek to a print shop to fill out an urgent document.

How to Sign a PDF on your iPad:

As you can see in the demonstration above, we used the $5 SignMyPad app from the App Store and a stylus or a finger to sign multiple PDFs while on the go and even when we are near an all in one printer scanner simply because it is easier. We like the ability to import, save and then email the document without jumping through hoops. The app integrates with the “Open In” dialogue to allow you to open up PDFs from email or from our favorite, Dropbox.

You can find SignMyPad in the App Store for $3.99.
