Dell Latitude E5420 Details, Specs and Pics

Dell has redesigned the Dell Latitude E Family of laptops with improvements to durability and a new attention to design that is representative of the end user’s desire for a notebook that doesn’t just get the job done, but looks good to. The Dell Latitude E5420 is a new business class laptop from Dell that is aimed at users who need a budget friendly laptop that can be used at the desk or on the go.

Dell Latitude E5420 Processor and Graphics Options:

The Dell Latitude E5420 notebook will make use of the latest 2nd Generation Intel Core i Family of processors and will use the integrated Intel HD3000 graphics that are a part of the new processor family. Additionally the Latitude E5420 will be able to accommodate up to 8GB RAM and numerous hard drive sizes including encrypted and solid state drives.

Dell Latitude E5420 Durability Features:

The Latitude E5420 has a durable Tri-Metal casing that offers a brushed aluminum finish for a nice look and a lighter device. The keyboard is spill resistant and there is now an LCD bumper that helps forma  seal when the LCD is closed. Additionally, the hinges are made of steel and the underside of the laptop is powder coated to help prevent scratches.

Dell Latitude E5420 Usability and Battery Options:

The Dell Latitude E5420 has numerous battery options to accommodate the needs of many different user types ranging all the way up to a 9 cell 97Wh battery. As far as usability, the E5420 has a backlit keyboard, optional webcam and the ability to lay the screen back 180 degrees.

The 14.1″ display is LED backlit and anti-glare for enhanced productivity outdoors. The base screen has a 1366×768 resolution, but users can upgrade to a 1600×900 resolution.

Dell Latitude E5420 Security Options:

The E5420 has numerous security options including Dell Data Protection, a Free Fall hard drive sensor that will lock the hard drive in the event of a fall and the ability to control port access. Additionally there are options to use fingerprint readers and contactless smart cards for enhanced security.
