After I upgraded my system and got a much larger drive (and it gets fragmented very fast owing to all the files I add and delete) I have switched to using a fully automatic third party defragger. I am very happy with the way it runs invisibly in the background. Has done a neat job without causing any conflict. Whatever the defrag program, I think its really important not to skip this task if data access has to remain propmt.
