I would pass this one. I was really looking forward to a i3/i5/i7 line of macbook airs. who wants to buy a 3 year old core2duo, just for portability, when you have much better choices. The specs tell me that it is already outdated. lack of usb 3.0 is a disappointment as well. There are tons of choices in the 3-4 pound range with much better price than this one. People who want to use their notebook for just browsing and photos would pick the more portable iPad. Apple needs to catch up on the processing front

Honestly guys this announcement was a bit of a disappointment. I have a 1.5 yr old macbook air with a 2.13 core duo, 128 gb ssd and 13.3 screen. Mine also has a backlit keyboard of which apple just forgot to add? Personally for developing this item for 2 years utilizing the same specs is not enticing. I understand you get a faster nvidia graphics processor but the whole thing seems wrong. why not the core family of intel cpu's, i guess because when apple released the air they worked with intel to shrink the core duo down for this implementation. maybe they are getting lazy, intel fed up with apples special requests. at any rate, i was really looking forward to upgrading but i think i will pass - my old macbook seems to be the same machine.

I'm actually trying to make this exact decision right now. I absolutely love the portability of the 11" MacBook Air (as well as several other features), but at the moment I'm leaning a bit more towards the MacBook Pro for one simple reason- I am going to need to get 4 to 5 years of use out of this purchase. The faster processor and larger HD seem like they may help me stretch a little more use out of this machine. If anyone sees fault in that reasoning, please let me know. This is definitely turning out to be a razor close decision for me.
