Alongside a collection of new netbooks, Samsung has announced the SF Series of notebooks. The SF series will include the SF310, SF410 and SF510 which will all use Intel Core i processors and offer a “style conscious” design, according to Samsung’s press release.

The SF310 is a 13.3″ notebook, the SF410 a 14″ notebook and the SF510 is a 15.6″ notebook; and will come with either an Intel Core i3, or Core i5 dual core processor. The outer case is reportedly a scratch resistant glossy ivory color and the internal area a matte black interior that holds an island style keyboard.

The SF series notebooks all come with a Lithium Polymer batter rated for 7.5 hours which comes with Express Charging Mode to top off the battery in 2-3 hours. The SF series notebooks also come with Samsung Fast Start, which can wake the computer from hibernation in 3 seconds as demonstrated in the video below.

The Samsung SF Notebooks will be available worldwide starting October 2010, no pricing was announced.

  1. Samsung SF510 and SF Series Details And Pricing Announced | Notebooks.com | September 2, 2010
  1. Tom says:

    Hello,

Just wanted to comment that I bought the SF410 (S01) a few days ago and I do regret it. Pros:

    1. Great battery life

    2. Very nice design

    3. 3 second start up (from sleep mode) is great and works as advertised.

    Cons:

    1. The touchpad is awful. Very easy to mistake a mouse button for the actual pad so while you expect to make a left click, you find that your cursor is suddenly on the other side of the screen.

    2. The screen is awful too. You can clearly see your own reflection and colour rendition is quite poor. I have had to adjust the graphics settings on the Intel Graphics Card (the Nvidia only works when needed) quite drastically in order to get realistic type colours for my photographs.

    3. So far, it is only available in red or white (at least in the UAE).

Bottom line – I should have bought from another brand.
