Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 Headed to U.S. With a New Look
The Dell Inspiron Mini 1018, a 10.1″ netbook running a new Intel Atom N455 processor and sporting a more stylish body, has started shipping in Europe and is expected to arrive stateside soon.
The Dell Inspiron mini 1018 comes with a 10.1″ display running at 1024×600 and is powered by the new Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive and is running Windows 7 Starter. The netbook takes styling cues from the Inspiron R series of notebooks and is expected to join the current Mini line instead of replacing a current netbook model. Additionally, users can expect a new touchpad with discrete buttons and single gesture functionality and a newly textured palmrest.
According to the announcement on Dell’s Europe community blog, the Mini 1018 will be sold alongside the Current Mini 1012 as a sparser option for more casual users. Notably you won’t be configuring the 1018 with a Broadcom HD Accelerator and other options.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 will be available this Fall, though no U.S. pricing has been announced.
