Loading images from a camera card is slow. An 8GB card loads to an Epson P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer in a little over 18 minutes. To the iPad that same card would take 2 hours 36 minutes. For the serious photog using the iPad as a photo back-up device is a non-starter. Maybe future generations of the iPad will have higher data transfer rates.
