There is no denying that the Macintosh is a superior OS to Windows. Also, Apple's computers are built to better quality then most cheap PC manufactures. Mainly because ASUS makes apple's motherboards...

However, you cannot justify the price of a Mac. The hardware is exactly the same. So when you buy a $1000 Macbook, you are paying $500 for the PC and $500 for the Operating system. I work at BestBuy and I have to sell computers all day long. It makes me sick that Apple sells a $2500 Macintosh that has the exact same specifications of an $800 PC.

Of course NetBook(& general PC) sales are up - they're cheap, under-powered & have to be replaced more regularly than Macs!

Sales is a poor benchmark of both commercial success (profit is better) and customer satisfaction. The latter is better judged by actual outcomes against initial expectations & given PCs are being so easily replaced by NetBooks clearly they weren't aiming that high anyway so why the two products are even being compared is totally beyond me.

McD
