CES: Introducing the HP Mini 5102 with Touch

HP has announced an update to their popular business class netbook the HP 5101. The new HP Mini 5102 continues to offer a business class option and also includes a special student edition of the Mini 5102 that has a fold out handle. The HP Mini 5102 will make use of the new Intel Atom N450 processor, has a 95% full size keyboard and can achieve 10 hour battery life with the optional 6 cell battery.

The HP Mini 5102 is the first touch enabled netbook from HP and offers users the ability to interact with the netbook through the touchscreen that can accept touch input from two fingers. Also on board is a webcam that uses face recognition software to log you into Windows and password protected websites.

The update continues to use the all metal case and is available in black, red and blue. Like many of the new HP Mini offerings users can choose an HD screen option as well as an HD accelerator and even integrated GPS.

On top of the handle that is included in the student version of the HP Mini 5102 the netbook will ship with the Adobe Digital School Collection to provide students with access to Adobe software.

The HP Mini 5102 is just .91 inches thick, weighs 2.64 pounds and will start at $399 when it is released in January.
