HP Pavilion dm3 (Video, Specs and Photos)

The HP Pavilion dm3 is a great looking notebook PC that starts at just $529. Its premium metallic finish makes it stand out from the crowd of notebooks with plastic finishes and I’m sure this will be a hot seller this holiday season.

The dm3 is a thin and light notebook with a 13′ display. It weighs in at just over four pounds, making it light enough to carry around all day long. It utilizes mild processors that are relatively affordable and that increase battery life.

I got to spend some time with the dm3 a couple of weeks ago at a pre-launch event and was very impressed with its industrial design.  The The Pavilion dm3 has a much more refined feel than the Pavilion dv2 and other plastic notebooks. Given a choice, I think most consumers would choose the dm3’s design rather than a notebook with a plastic lid and palm rest.

The dm3 has a plastic bottom, which helps keeps costs down. If you want an all-metal enclosure you should check out the HP Envy 13.

The HP Pavilion dm3t is now available at HP.com for $599 with Intel technology. The dm3z features AMD technology and starts at just $529.99 at HP.com.
