Welcoming Josh Smith to the Notebooks.com Team

profilecrop.jpgI’d like to welcome Josh Smith to the Notebooks.com team. He’s a well-rounded guy that has a passion for blogging, technology and personal finance. I’ve enjoyed chatting with Josh over the past few weeks and am very excited to have him on board.

He recently earned an MBA, after completing his undergraduate studies in MIS and computer science. Josh manages the alumni database for Bluffton University and teaches courses in Information Systems, e-commerce and business. He’s known on campus as the go-to guy for smartphone and mobile computing questions.

Josh says he’s unable to hold a monogamous relationship with a notebook for very long. He splits his time between an HP Mini 1000 running Windows 7 and an HP TX2000 tablet PC running Windows 7 and Vista. His mobile phone of choice is a Samsung i760 that’s on Verizon’s wireless network. He enjoys applications that help him simplify his life.

I first started talking to Josh after he linked to a video that Rob Bushway shot of me showing off all the gear I was using to cover CES 2009. He was sharp enough to spot a six-cell battery for the Mini 1000 that hadn’t been formally introduced yet. We ended up chatting on Twitter and I began reading his work over at Walletpop.com, where he continues to blog about services, applications and tools that help people manage their personal finances.

When Josh isn’t in a classroom or in front of a computer, he keeps himself busy fishing, camping and playing disc golf and ultimate frisbee.

I’d like to thank Josh for agreeing to contribute to Notebooks.com. Josh’s first article for Notebooks.com is here: Three Types of Notebooks That are Great for Students.
