Apple on iPhone 3GS: 1 Million Sold in Three Days

In a press release, Apple stated that more than a million iPhone 3GS models were sold through the weekend. About six million iPhone customers have downloaded iPhone 3.0 software since it was released last Wednesday.

These are impressive numbers by any measure. Analysts estimated that 50,000 copies of the Palm Pre were sold the weekend of its debut earlier this month.

I picked up an iPhone 3GS Friday morning and have been very pleased with its performance compared to the iPhone 3G. It’s significantly faster and I love the video feature. I know video-phones are nothing new, but it’s a feature that I’ve already used extensively.

Unfortunately, AT&T’s service is extremely spotty in my neighborhood. Calls are frequently dropped and 3G is missing in action more often than not. I’ve resorted to using my Sprint MiFi with my iPhone when I need a reliable Internet connection.
