Our friends Joanna Stern and Avram Piltch are giving old notebooks mobile makeovers. In the first video in the series, Cindy Hwang’s aging Sony VAIO is turned into a media hub.

Cindy’s Sony VAIO cost her about $1,800 back in 2004 and it was definitely showing its age. The team added about $350 worth of parts and accessories to the mix to revive it. The entire procedure is documented in the below video.
