Retro Unboxing of Atari’s Touch Tablet circa 1984
Harry from Technologizer got his hands on a brand new Atari CX77 Touch Tablet that dates back to the year I first began playing with gadgets. He put together a slideshow of the unboxing and what you can do with a 25-year old tablet that pre-dates Wacom digitizers.
There are some interesting tidbits of nostalgia in the tablet unboxing, including a 5.25-inch floppy disk and a television hooked up to the CPU instead of a monitor. This brings back memories of some of my first gadgets and computers. Things were done differently in 1984 and mobility was a distant dream.

Looks a lot like my Key Tronic WritePAL. It plugs into a serial port, and is powered by sharing the keyboard’s port. It comes with an AT adapter to use with an AT keyboard, and although it doen’t have 5 1/4″ floppy for drivers, it does have 3 1/2″ floppy disks with drivers and software for both Windows 95, and for Windows 3.1.
(Thanks for the stroll down “Memory Lane” for today.)
