Boston Power CEO On the Future of Notebook Batteries (video from CES 2009)

I met up with Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud, the CEO and founder of Boston Power, at CES 2009. Her company that hopes to drastically improve the longevity of notebook batteries. HP’s the first notebook OEM to sell Boston Power batteries, which can stand up to 1,000 or more cycles and be charged up to 80% capcity in just 30 minutes.

She talked a lot about how her company’s innovations may have a big impact on the environment, but I what’s going to get people to buy these batteries. She knows what she’s talking to when it comes to notebook batteries and I sure learned a lot during the meeting at CNTRSTG.

The number one complaint of mobile computing users is battery life. Christina explains what’s not working in today’s notebook batteries and what Boston Power hopes to do about it.
