I much prefer the mStand from Rain Design. It takes up the same space, looks like it has the same angle, is in the same price range ($50) but has two advantages

1) is formed of one piece of heavy aluminum

2) that allows forming a lip on the top cradle that keeps your notebook from sliding down.

The lip has a cut out for MacBooks with latches, and rubber pads to keep from scratching as well as hold in position.

The top has some more of these pads.

While I usually use a Bluetooth keyboard when my MacBook is in the mStand, it is very rigid and one can easily type on the laptop keyboard when sitting in the stand.

As a plus, the aluminum styling matches the new MacBooks.

Well, I opened the box, put my MacBook Pro on the stand, then literally watched it slide off of the rubber pads. I am going to apply a couple of velcro pads towards the back. I have read on other reviews that this is noy an uncommon problem. A few posted that they placed their laptop on the stand only to find it on the floor the next morning.

Norm,
I am not sure what you mean. I have not had any issues and other reviews have stated similar to what I have. The rubber pads work great.
