The laptop its self will only get to the menu page but will not play the movie. When connected to the tv via hdmi the tx picks up the laptop and quickplayer but when you put a disk in nothing. I own the dv9700 and its a disaser. why they decided to put hdmi and blue ray in i'll never know. the quickplay menu does not work, the blue ray player does not play discs through hdmi output to an external hd tv, even tho i spent hours and hours trying to research and configure it, and the hdmi connector does not play video to my hdtv. I can get video out occasionally but never audio through the hdmi. HP has become very disappointing to me. Dont waste your money. I would not buy anything HP with blue ray.
