It is a nice laptop, but it does need a little bit more ram. It has a max of 2 Gigs and DDR2 PC-5300 ram!!! BestBuy and Sony's websites say to use PC-4200 but when I opened it up it had 2x512MB sticks in it. I recommend you put in the maximum amount of 2 GB of ram. Preferrebly a good company like corsair or kingston. I picked up to 2x1GB sticks of Kingston from Newegg.com for $40 It makes startup a whole lot quicker and helps with he touchpads responsiveness. I also recommend that you delete alot of the preloaded software that comeswith you computer that you are notgoing to use. This configuration hould work like a charm. Just remember not to delete anything that could possibly be important. If you did go to system retore and undo everything that you did.

I too got to Best Buy at 7:45, long after all 15 tix were given for the Vaio--but they had 30 of them, and I walked up to customer service, pointed to one with no ticket number pasted on it, and bought it and the $54 1 gig memory upgrade..Outside staff had made the line-ticket phenomenon appear to be important and completed. Inside the store, they had lots of product to sell. Only thing they ran out of was the 160 gig HD version bundle with printer for $499-of which BB had only 3 as per their ad. The $399 + $54 is a better config, I believe--except now the 802.11 is behaving badly and cuts off during boot when the gadgets load. Any suggestions ?
