  1. I would like to buy this Notebook. It would mean alot to my husband and I if we could save $825. off the price. However, after I went on the HP site I did tentatively pick out a package some what of what I wanted and this computer is very expensive without everything that is offered here. This is a wonderful notebook and could help my husband and I as we both are injured with severe spinal problems and this would be a joy to have. Do you think waiting, that the price will decrease in 6mth to a year? What is your advise when to buy.

    thank you

    Teresa,
Computers always drop in price, so if you wait you’re bound to save money.
It also depends what kind of specs you’re interested in. For example, the Blu-ray options are very expensive right now, but I expect those to drop drastically by the end of the year.

The HDX is a very powerful machine, but it is also very expensive as you’d pointed out. The base price is $1,999 right now. It probably won’t drop too much lower in the short term, but you will be able to get more for your money if you wait.

What kind of budget are you working with? HP does send us coupons every couple of weeks, so be sure to check back or email me if you have questions.

    Skipp,

Your best bet is to order direct from HPshopping.com. Best Buy stocks one version in some stores, but it’s a relatively low-production machine so most stores don’t have it.
