I actually have the desktop version, of the quick cam pro 9000, it is the BEST webcam I have EVER seen, I wouldn't have a doubt in my mind that this wouldn't be worth $99.

The only thing I am worried about is the audio quality on the mic in the camera (at least, I think I could see one) the current one I have I believe is about 22Khz, possibly less, not quite sure but it isn't the best.. I guess for calling somebody on skype it would be reasonable though.

I like the idea of the stand, if only it were adjustable.

So far I have been blown away with logitech hardware, they seriously are awesome... The only thing I think needs a little bit of work on is the software that comes with your product, they need a clearer GUI and something that loads fast and is flexible with options, don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things you can do with Logitech's hardware but I have found that if you have one setting turned on, you lack another... For example, when I turn RightLight on, it might sacrifice some frame rate, though it's funny because sometimes it gains in frame rate... Weird for basic users to understand.

Great video Xavier, that covered pretty much everything I wanted to know!

What I'm more interested in seeing, is Logitech actually writing good software and drivers for ther products. Th stuff they've been putting out lately is junk, but the hardware seems to always be quite good.

Nice catch on the photo, I swapped it out. I actually like how Logitech names their products because they (usually) mean something. It's a lot better than having 10-digit names that nobody can decipher, and most people just end up ignoring.

The drawback is you get some confusion between model years and figuring out what's actually new.
Maybe they should name their webcams like cars- the "2007 QuickCam Pro for Notebooks"

Great camera, but why oh why does Logitech use such stupid names for their products? This is the Quickcam Pro for Notebooks. There is an older product called a Quickcam for Notebooks Pro. It is very confusing- even this page has the photo of the OLD product at the upper right, not the product they are reviewing here.

Why don't they just throw a model number into the product names? Corporate stupidity at it worst! There should be a Dilbert cartoon about this!
