I bought my Presario v5305 on Nov 5, 2006 and am using it as I write. My store's allotment was only 5(very small town - 3,000 pop). I was #2 in line - store opened at 6:00am - got there at 5:15 or so. Bought it for my granddaughter, but kept it for a year and gave it to her this Christmas (she's now 10). Last year she asked at the last minute for a Nintendo DS - so my husband has enjoyed using the Presario for a year. It continues to work like a charm. Great Buy.

just to let you know that I had purchased my v5305wm on Nov 5,2006 and as of now ( July 24,2007), it is still going strong! I haven't had a single problem with it. the only upgrade I did perform was memory to bump it up from 512 megs to 1 gig. I did receive my Free Vista upgrade, but for now, i have decided to wait as XP has been running with no problems at all. it has been a great purchase for me.

They handed out vouchers an hour before they went on sale. They weren't rain checks because you had to use the vouchers before 12:30 am, otherwise you were out of luck. I asked someone in electronics about the notebook several days before the sale and was told how it would work. Knowing that the minimum per store was only 15, I arrived at the store around 9:30 Saturday night. The cash register couldn't even read the barcode correctly until 12:01 am- the day of the sale (Sunday morning). 12:00 am Monday morning would be a day after the sale started. And at my local Wal-mart, there was only one employee in line and he stood in line just like everyone else. Every single notebook was accounted for by people who were in line. Even if we had to stand in line until 12:00 am or later, we all would have done it. Trust me, I was 3rd in line and witnessed every single voucher being handed out. My store had 20 total- more than the minimum stated in the ad. There was probably around 50 people in line and 30 of them were not too pleased, but if they wanted one bad enough, they should have waited til 12:30 am and waited to see if everyone else returned to redeem the voucher. As far as I could tell, only 1 person stuck around to find out if someone did not redeem their voucher. Chances are that person got a notebook also, because I'm sure at least one person did not return.
